At WASA/Studio A we believe that every client deserves the highest quality design, the highest quality consulting services and, to be sure, a project that they can be proud of. At the core of the firm's practice of Integrated Design is Building Information Modeling (BIM), a highly-sophisticated, three-dimensional modeling system, which has transformed the way architects and engineers practice and collaborate.
Instead of the traditional process of creating two-dimensional CAD drawings, our engineers and architects carry out all design and documentation in an interactive, three-dimensional environment. The unprecedented level of information-sharing made possible by BIM allows our designers to work together, resulting in the highest level of project synchronization and remarkably accurate and coordinated construction documents. During the design process, the parametric basis of the BIM model provides extremely detailed quantity take-offs for estimating purposes. The life of the BIM model does not stop at the construction set, as we can update the model through the construction process, resulting in a virtual 'As-Built' data-rich model. In addition to spatial data, BIM allows us to imbed and share technical information and specifications, an utterly invaluable asset for the client and builder during project development, construction and beyond. The BIM model can also be used to aid in the operation and maintenance of a facility after construction, through integration with a CAFM system.
With more than 65 architecture and MEP engineering BIM stations, WASA/Studio A staff members design all of the firm's projects through BIM, comprising a variety of project types including new construction, renovations, complex structures and building additions.
